Safety Onboard

Safety & Comfort

Most of the following guidelines are mandatory under Civil Aviation Authority Regulations to make your flight safe, comfortable and enjoyable

SAFETY ON-BOARD
It is important that prior to take-off you read the Safety Card, which is in the seat pocket in front of you. Our Crews are specially trained in the safety and security of all passengers and it is an offence to refuse to obey any lawful command of the Captain and Crew, which includes the illumination of passenger signs. Anyone breaking these laws could be refused carriage outward or return by ourselves or any other UK airline, and is liable to be subsequently prosecuted under the Air Navigation Act.
Our Crew’s primary concern is YOUR safety at all times.

SEATBELTS
During take-off and landing seatbelts must be fastened, and seats and tables secured in the upright position. You are advised to keep your seatbelt loosely fastened throughout the flight and at any time when requested by the Captain or Crew. Infants travelling on a passenger’s lap will require a child safety-belt, which our Cabin Crew will be happy to fit for you.

SMOKING
Smoking is NOT PERMITTED on any of our flights and for the safety of all our passengers the toilet compartments are fitted with highly sensitive smoke detectors. Violation of this law may lead to prosecution and a substantial fine.

ALCOHOL
Please bear in mind that high altitude increases the physical effects of alcohol, so moderate consumption is recommended.
It is illegal to be intoxicated on-board an aircraft. The consumption of any alcoholic beverage other than those supplied from the inflight bar is not permitted and the Crew are authorised to remove alcohol from passengers drinking from their own supplies.

PASSENGER BEHAVIOUR
Jet2.com expect our passengers to behave in a responsible manner and we will not tolerate unacceptable behaviour. This includes foul language and any other behaviour that reduces other passengers’ enjoyment of the flight and causes them, or our staff, any degree of distress, discomfort or unnecessary inconvenience. We reserve the right to ban passengers from future flights if their behaviour is a threat to the safety of our passengers and Crew.

HAND LUGGAGE
One piece of hand luggage is allowed per passenger, providing its weight is less than 10kg and it is no larger than 46cm x 30cm x 23cm. Excess hand luggage will be placed in the hold. Light or soft articles should be stowed in the overhead luggage compartments, heavier items under seats. Items lying loose on empty seats or obstructing the aisles or emergency exits are dangerous and you will be asked to remove them.

ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
Once the aircraft is at cruising altitude and the Captain has turned off the “Fasten Seat Belt” sign, you are free to use laptops, CD players, MP3 players, computer games and most other electronic items. For safety reasons, the use of mobile phones or any other devises with wireless communication is restricted onboard. Please ask a member of the crew for further information. The use of electronic equipment of any kind is not permitted during taxi, take-off and landing.

COMFORT
Changes in the cabin air pressure may cause some slight discomfort in your ears. You can relieve this by swallowing hard, yawning or holding your nose while gently breathing out with your mouth closed. Flying also causes your body to dehydrate so you are advised to have something to drink that is not alcoholic. For your further comfort, please also refer to the recommended exercises on the opposite page of this magazine.

IN-FLIGHT SERVICE
On your flight we will be offering you a comprehensive choice of hot and cold drinks as well as a selection of delicious snacks, including sandwiches and confectionery. Full details of our on-board products can be found at the back of this magazine.
Our Cabin Crew will be delighted to offer you a chance to purchase items from our fantastic range of tax-paid goods from our SkyShop, including fragrances, cosmetics, toys and gifts at low prices – take advantage of our great savings against high-street prices. We kindly ask all passengers to help keep the aircraft tidy by not placing rubbish into the seat pockets or on the floor. Our Cabin Crew will be collecting rubbish throughout the flight, so please help them to keep the aircraft tidy.
