HANGING GARDEN
The Etcetera planter is a clever piece of design by Vincent Vandenbrouck for Édition Compagnie which provides the ideal solution for those with green fingers but not much outdoor space. Suspend from a ceiling or wall and fill the pots with trailing plants like lobelia or cheery geraniums. You can pick it up from fab new design store Lifestyle Bazaar on London’s Newburgh Street, or buy it online. £195
FESTIVAL FUN
The latest hot collaboration for resurgent 1960s textiles designer Celia Birtwell is with Millets, the high-street outdoor equipment store. Her new range of camping essentials includes several tents (the Monkey Puzzle family tent is featured here), wellies and a sleeping bag. It might well rain (did we mention there’s a brolly as well?) but surely that’s no reason not to travel around the festival circuit in style. £150
CHIC “ANTIQUE”
British designer John Reeves may only be in his twenties but his Louis collection of lacquered fur niture – which uses antique forms with a witty, contemporary twist – has earned him well-deserved early recognition. His new outdoor range of zinc-coated benches, tables, stools and a quirky loveseat – all with the signature leg design – will bring instant glamour to your deck. FROM £100
WATCH THE BIRDIE
Even if your garden is totally lacking in trees you can still sit in dappled shade with Chris Kabel’s gorgeous parasol for Conran. The vivid green canopy is stencil-cut to mimic leaves and there’s even a bird perched on top. Stand sold separately. £210
