Cinderella Turned Bad
Guests at Bar 190 in the Gore Hotel, London, ‘may go to the ball’ in a new VIP enclosure themed like Cinderella’s Carriage. Celebrity guests wanting to live the fairytale already include, erm, Take That.
Made from gold-painted wood and draped in red velvet curtains, footmen will serve you cocktails and strawberries in a glass slipper for an agreed minimum spend.
The hotel says: ‘Quirky and eccentric, Cinderella’s Carriage is certainly “Rock and Roll”, however, guests are kindly asked to refrain from using it for sex or drugs.’ So party the night away, but remember – you’ve been told.

Movie and Merlot
The Rex member’s cinema in London now has an ethical bar to make your feel-good film feel even better. Their new wine list contains wines made only from organic, biodynamic and sustainable resources, so for £250 per year you can see free films with up to three guests and critique them over an eco-friendly tipple.

Hard Days Night
Launched in February this year, Liverpool has a bar as fab as its inspiration. Bar Four is the cocktail spot in the new Hard Days Night Hotel. The four star boutique residence is characterised by Beatles artwork and paintings by local Liverpool artist Paul Ygartua who attended Liverpool Art College with John Lennon. House specialities include Strawberry Fields With Pepper (crushed strawberries, vodka, thyme and sugar). Just a couple of these and you’ll be declaring yourself the lost fifth member by closing time.

Youth in a Glass
Inspired by Olay’s new anti-ageing line, Definity, the Defini-tini is a ‘glowing, luminous’ cocktail (see… clever, hey?) created by celebrity mixologist Alex Ott and designed to attract health-conscious stars and party-goers.
Ott is responsible for the specially-created cocktails at leading hot spots including the Buddha Bar in Paris, and has been awarded the ‘Best Mixologist in America’ title in Las Vegas. Cheers to that.
