Boutique recently won a national award for best new bar, and I discover ed it’s the absinthe rinse that gives their Rodeo Martini a kick like a bucking bronco. I popped into The May Fair to check out the hotel’s £75m makeover. My friends and I sprawled on one of the purple sofas in the Oriental-style lounge and enjoyed champagne cocktails. Paris

The Bar at Hôtel Plaza Athénée is irresistible thanks to Alco Mist: an alcohol spray that’s spritzed over meringues to create one of the best snacks I’ve ever had. Amsterdam

My friend Gino, the resident mixologist at the little rococo-style bar at The Dylan Amsterdam, treated me to The Dylan Special recently: a blend of raspberry framboise, amaretto, vodka and sugar.

Geneva

Since the Leopard Room at the Hotel d’Angleterre was named hotel bar of the year not long ago, I thought I’d go there on the prowl for potential sugar daddies. Apparently it’s the hand-rolled Cuban cigars and cognac they flock here for. Sadly, none of the men met my high standards, so I crept away for some beauty sleep and hit the slopes early next morning.
